CEO Adam Aron of AMC Theatres, the largest movie theater chain in the U.S, had said that the chain will begin accepting bitcoin and dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies as payment for digital gift cards.
AMC Customers can buy gift cards up to a value of $200 per day online in app or in theaters using a BitPay wallet.
On an earnings call in August, Aron said that the chain would begin accepting bitcoin as payment for tickets and concessions by the end of the year.
After this news the meme-based cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, responded positively to the news, hitting its highest value in over three weeks at over $0.27.
