According to the Google Trends, two cryptocurrency – Dogecoin (DOGE) and Ethereum (ETH) made the list of the world’s most searched terms in 2021. There are more than 16k crypto coin listed in the coin tracking website CoinMarketCap.
Every year Google released its traditional annual list of the top searches for the year, breaking them down into several categories, including searches, news, people, games, movies and others.
This year, Dogecoin became the 4th and Ethereum 10th most popular news search term on Google in 2021, globally. Another cryptocoin Squid Games ranked 10th in the most searched list globally this year.
Squid Games is a digital token inspired by the popular South Korean Netflix series Squid Game. The cryptocurrency has lost almost all of its value after the token developers did the rug pull.
Dogecoin, launched in 2013 has emerged as one of the most successful cryptocurrencies in 2021, and made it to the top 5 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization earlier this year. DOGE’s price has skyrocketed this year, thanks in large part to endorsement from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who started actively promoting DOGE on Twitter in 2020.
There are currently 24 meme cryptocurrencies on the market that contain the term “doge” in their name, 29 memecoin with the term “dog”, 19 coins with the term “Shiba”, 25 coins have “Shib” with their name.
